Puttur: Man accused of raping mother held

Puttur: Police arrested a man accused of repeatedly raping his 58-year-old mother here.

The accused, a resident of Kurikkara of Kedambadi village has been booked under Section 376 (2) and Section 506 of the IPC. He was produced before the court following his arrest.

The victim had filed a complaint against her son accusing him of raping her on the intervening night of January 12 and 13 and again for a second time the next day morning. He also threatened to kill her if she revealed the truth to anyone.

The woman is being treated at the government hospital in Puttur for the injuries she suffered in the heinous rape.
