The deceased has been identified as Nalini (32), a resident of Urva village in Olamogru, who hailed from Kanyana near Vittla. She was married to Sanjeev in a mass wedding one and a half years ago.

The Missing Case

Sanjeev reported his wife missing to the Puttur Rural Police on October 8, following which police requested her photo for investigation. Sanjeev assured them of providing it but reportedly did not return to the police station.

Sources indicate that Nalini frequently visited her parental home, which led Sanjeev not to initially worry about her absence. However, her family lost contact with her and visited Urva on November 2 to inquire about her. During their search, they found a rope hanging from a tree on a hilltop, with strands of hair on it, along with a skull and bones below it, later confirmed as Nalini’s.

Police sources estimate that the death may have occurred around a month ago. Local residents suspect that animals may have scavenged parts of her body. Currently, there is speculation over whether Nalini’s death was a suicide or a murder.
