Pvt hospitals agree to reserve 50% of beds for COVID-19 patients

Bengaluru: Private hospitals have agreed to allocate 50 per cent of their beds to COVID-19 patients in accordance with the government’s order due to an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the city.

Minister for Revenue, R Ashok, informed reporters about it after talks with the heads of private hospitals.

He further said that 750 beds would be handed over tomorrow (June 30) and 2500 beds would be provided by private hospitals within a week.

We are in talks with the rest of Bengaluru’s private hospitals and medical colleges. A COVID-19 patient should be receiving treatment in a hospital within eight hours of testing positive, the government is working for it, he added.
