Rain creates destruction in Mysuru

Mysuru: Two deaths were recorded and 253 houses were partially collapsed  in rain-related episodes in Mysuru region in the previous week.

Also, 15 head of dairy cattle died and both cultivation and horticulture crops were harmed in the district attributable to downpours. As indicated by official sources agriculture crops like banana, coconut and tomato in more than 40 hectares were harmed. They said they have not yet gotten data about the loss of the crops. Numerous farmer leaders including Kurubur Shanthkumar, leader of the Karnataka State Sugarcane Growers’ affiliation said both agriculture and horticulture crops were harmed in more than 1,000 hectares in the area infer-able from heavy rains. 

The two deaths were accounted for from K.R. Nagar and Mysuru city. 

The district administration has framed groups containing officials from Horticulture, Agriculture and Revenue offices to carry out crop loss evaluation owing to rain over the district. The groups have started commenced surveying the crop loss.The Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) and Village Accountant (VA) have started surveying harm to houses.
