As if for the first time in the history of Mangaluru, a massive hall of 3.53 lakh sq ft is being installed at Nehru Maidan for the programme. The hall is named after Molehalli Shivaraya who had sown the seeds of cooperative societies. A stage with the dimensions of 74×30 feet has been created at the football ground on which three more stages will be created. The silver stage has the seating capacity of 210 guests and a “Cooperative” and “Navodaya” stages have been created on the left and right respectively, with a total seating capacity of 150 people.

100 CC camera; 25 LED
100 CC cameras have been installed for the secure and systematic functioning of the programme. 25 LED TV screens facility has been made for the programme occurring at the stage to be viewed throughout the hall. Primary importance has been given for cleanliness and around 1,000 volunteers will be working, he informed.
From morning 9 am to afternoon 1:30 pm
For the arrival of the people, close to 3,000 buses, 1,000 tempos facility has been made and also parking facility has been provided. A cultural programme will be presented by the students of Alva’s College from morning 9 am to 10:30 am. The “Silver Anniversary Celebrations” will begin at 9 am in the morning and will conclude at 1”30 pm in the afternoon, he informed.
61 art trams in the procession
On Jan 19th at 9 am, a permanent “Cooperative Museum” will be inaugurated to make the silver anniversary a memorable event at the SCDCC bank premises. A procession will be taken out from the bank premises at 9:30 am. The procession will go on the right hand side of the road through Ramana Pai Hall road to Hampankatta – Clock Tower – A B Shetty Circle and reach the Maidan. Participation of at least 25,000 people is expected. 61 art teams and 100 ‘chande’ team will be a special attraction, informed Dr Deviprasad Shetty.
10,000 people to arrive today
About 10,000 members are expected to arrive to the city from Uttara Kannanda and Shimoga districts on Jan 18th. Around 21 centres for accommodation have been booked for their stay. Car parking facility for the guests arriving on Jan 19th has been provided at various locations in the city. Car parking facility has been provided to guests near the town hall and government college grounds, parking facility for the presidents of the cooperative institutions of the undivided district has been provided at Aloysius grounds, Bunts Hostel ground will be used for the parking of vehicles cooperatives of various districts and invited guests, parking opportunity is also provided at Shanti Nilaya ground, Yemmekere ground and Kadri ground, informed Dr Shetty.
