Ramanath Rai urges state govt to announce special package for Karavali

Kapu: In the backdrop of torrential rains causing floods leading to damaging cultivation and other properties, a delegation created by the Karnataka Regional Congress Committee and headed by former minister Ramanath Rai, visited Kapu region to take stock of the incurred losses on Wednesday.

The people affected by the floods kept forth their concerns with the delegation. Congress leaders noted the requests by the victims and assured to take it up with the state government.

The twin districts have suffered heavy losses resulting from the floods caused by the inclement weather. Therefore a special package should be announced for the distribution of the compensation, development of the basic facilities and for the management of relief works, demanded Mr Rai and urged the government to immediately release the Rs 10,000 compensation announced by the chief minister.

Respond to the damage incurred by the victims of flood examine the damage suffered by the two districts, give importance to development and MLAs must bring to the notice of the government , the problems faced by their respective regions, urged MLA U T Khader to the MLAs of the coastal districts.
