Redesigned and 'relevant' courses at M'luru varsity soon

Mangaluru: Mangaluru University Vice-Chancellor P S Yadapadithaya on Sunday, February 2 said that courses and syllabi from the next academic year will be revised and those courses which have low enrolments will be redesigned and made relevant.

Speaking to reporters, he further added that a revived admissions review committee comprising of deans and senior professors will look into the review and redesign of the courses and introducing new courses such as Civil Aviation, Tourism, Forensics, Digital Forensics and BA in Yakshagana.

The committee will visit the university’s faculties and affiliated colleges from the beginning of March and will submit its report before March 31. After any statutory clearances, the redesigned and new courses will be on for from the next academic year.

The vice-chancellor also announced that the open house system had failed in getting admissions to courses instead a committee consisting of professors, alumni and final year students will visit colleges and inform students about the university’s courses.
