On Saturday, Rs. 3,800 in cash and grocery items were distributed to those who people who were affected by the deluge, had registered themselves with the gruel centres and had proceeded to stay at their relative’s home after a demand was made for the same. The relief material will also be distributed to all the remaining families, informed the revenue department.
Visit from MLA, CEO
MLA K.G. Bopaiah, Kodagu ZP CEO Prashant, assistant commissioner H.K. Krishnamurthy and others visited the gruel centres and carried enquired. Even on Saturday, relief material kept coming to the gruel centres as assistance from various villages. Understanding the requirements of the gruel centres through social media, attempts are being made to fulfil them through the cooperation of donors.

With comparison to the last two days, the murkiness in the Payasvini River has reduced. Earlier, the water supply to the city had been stopped because of the muddy water.
Search continues
The search for missing Manjula has continued. Inspection has been carried at the location from where the mortal remains of Gowramma were recovered. The work on removing tree trunks and debris that have been lodged in bridges and vents of the vented dams has continued. The work on removal of the mud deposited on the road at Monnangeri along the Sampaje-Madikeri road is being continued.
Final Rites
On Friday, the post-mortem was carried on Gowramma, wife of late Basappa, whose mortal remains were found near Jodupala Bridge, at the government hospital. Later, the deceased was given her final rites in the presence of her son Mohit and family members at Korpala Hindu crematorium.
