Renowned CPI (M) leader B Madhava no more

Mangaluru: Veteran CPI (M) leader B Madhava passed away on Tuesday June 18. He was suffering from prolonged illness.

The leader was in the forefront of the left movement in the state and served the party in various capacities. He has held different positions in the district as well as the state level. He also contested Assembly elections as party candidate from Mangaluru once and faced defeat.

He was a LLB graduate had began his career in LIC. He worked continuously for the cause of the unorganised sector workers. He was also the state president of Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU).

Being a prolific writer, Madhava has written several books regarding fascism and communal forces. He has also translated several books into Kannada from English.
