Dhareshwar was known for his contributions to the Yakshagana stage, where he spent 46 years of his life dedicated to the art form. He served as a principal devotee for 28 years in the Perdur Mela and began his journey in the Amriteshwari Mela before that.
His involvement in various Melas, including Hiremahalingeshwar and Shirasi, contributed significantly to the success of the Perduru Mela. Born in Gokarna in 1957, Dhareshwar initially pursued music and performance before transitioning to work in an electrical shop, where he arranged lighting for Yakshagana performances.
Under the mentorship of Pracharya Naranappa, Dhareshwar made his mark on the Yakshagana stage, directing new episodes with innovative approaches. Despite reaching the pinnacle of his fame, he temporarily left the troupe but later rejoined due to unavoidable circumstances, touring for a year.
