Researchers have developed a mobile radar device for the rapid rescue of people who get buried by disasters

As reported by Phys.org, The Fraunhofer Institute for High Frequency Physics and Radar Techniques FHR has developed a new kind of mobile radar device that can search hectare-sized areas quickly and thoroughly.

It locates people by detecting their pulse and breathing. The device works by emitting waves.

One of the researchers said, “Our longer-term goal is to mount this radar device on a drone and fly it over the disaster site” The new technology combines greater mobility with accurate detection of vital signs.
