The state coalition government recently caught the attention of the opposition party after Home Minister and Congress Leader, M B Patil, hinted that Congress Leader Siddaramaiah should take over the Chief Minister post again.
Following MB Patil’s statement, Kumaraswamy had said that senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge should have been made a Chief Minister long back, but he was not given enough recognition for his work by his party.
However, the statements made by MB Patil and Kumaraswamy led to a bevy of jibes from leaders of both parties leading to the Congress high command to hold a meeting at the Hubballi Airport and tell the JD(S) leadership that there are negative statements coming from both ends and the impact of the bickering will be seen on the alliance of the two parties in by-polls and Congress’s relationship with the ally and prospective allies across the country.
