The shoot was for her lingerie brand Savage X Fenty and the singer-actress can be seen lavender coloured satin shorts with other accessories apart from the diamond-studded Lord Ganesha neckpiece.
Social media users, mostly Indians who are her fans were disappointed with the pop star for hurting religious sentiments.

Even BJP leader Ram Kadam bashed popstar Rihanna for sharing a topless photo with a Lord Ganpati idol pendant. “It’s appalling to see how @Rihanna shamefully mocks our beloved Hindu God #Ganesha.
