Kundapur: Rising temperatures in the coastal town of Kundapur, India are having adverse effects on local crops, including cashew, mango, and jackfruit.

The maximum temperature is being recorded in the coastal regions, leading to delayed blooming for some crops.

This is problematic for farmers as the harvest typically comes during the rainy season when there is little demand.

Additionally, morning dew is causing the flowers to wilt, further damaging the crops.

Chandrasekhar Udupa Kenchanur, a farmer, stated that the maximum temperature in the afternoon will continue to affect all types of crops.

The late blooming will also impact next year’s season due to the dry climate caused by the temperature rise.

Meanwhile, the agriculture and horticulture departments are working to find solutions to these problems and support farmers in the region.
