Addressing the media on Wednesday, he said that the leaders of the organisation had moved away from its fundamental values, which made the sangh lose its credibility. He accused the sangh of being mired in financial and moral corruption, nepotism and dynastic politics. He felt that the BJP’s allegations against the Congress were actually applicable to the RSS and BJP leaders.
While BJP leaders accuse the Congress of practising dynastic politics, the same scenario exists in the BJP as well with B.S. Yeddyurappa’s son, Murgesh Nirani’s brother and Jagdish Shettar’s brother holding key positions in the party. Gowda also claimed that certain RSS and BJP leaders were involved in cases of land grabbing, and that he was threatened when he tried to report it to the government. He pointed out that leaders like Yeddyurappa, Jagdish Shettar, Shobha Karandlaje and Anant Kumar were not very rich a few years ago, suggesting that they might be involved in illegal activities.
Instead of supporting a ‘fake Hindutva’ organisation like the RSS, Gowda has decided that he would be supporting the Shiv Sena in the elections. There were few others who were displeasured with the RSS and Gowda felt that they all might join him.
