‘Rural Covid patients to be shifted to dedicated centres’

Bengaluru: Health Minister K. Sudhakar informed that Covid-19 patients in rural areas who do not have home isolation facility will be shifted to Covid Care Centres

Addressing presspersons after a review meeting he said, “Infected persons without a separate room and attached toilet will be moved to CCCs set up in their villages across the state as home isolation is not possible for them.”

The state Health Department has set up local task forces in villages to help asymptomatic patients shift into CCCs.

The number of recoveries continued to outnumber fresh COVID-19 cases in Karnataka, as the state on Wednesday, May 19 reported 49,953 discharges, 34,281 new cases, and 468 fatalities, the Health Department said.

While the total number of infections stood at 23,06,655, the toll was 23,306.
