Chikkamagaluru: Expressing concern over doctors’ protection, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday said that they need protection from coronavirus as well as BJP governments’ callousness.

He was reacting to the recent incident of assault on doctors at Chikkamagaluru and Assam’s Hojai district. Earlier this week, four people assaulted a 50-year-old doctor in Chikkamagaluru’s Tarikere allegedly over the death of a six-year-old child.

Taking to Twitter, Rahul stated: “Doctors need protection from coronavirus as well as BJP governments’ callousness. Save the saviors,” he tweeted.

Notably, both the incidents took place in BJP-ruled states.
