Senior citizen exemplifies humanity

Mangaluru: A senior citizen exemplified humanity by giving a purse containing documents and cash, found fallen near the road connecting to the central railway station in the city, to the railway police and take measures so that it reached back into the hands of its owner.

The honest senior citizen is identified as Jayaprakash Shenoy (64), a resident of Ashwini Nagar in Kasaragod and the lost belongings belong to Mohammed Sakeer (28), a resient of Herakala Panjimadi in Mangaluru taluk.

Jayaprakash found the purse containing Rs 67,685 in cash, 4 ATM cards and two driving license on the morning of Oct 4th at around 8:45 am. He promptly handed it over to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) inspector Manoj Kumar.

The cops contacted the owner of the lost belongings through the address mentioned on the purse. At around 11 am, Mr Sakeer reached the RPF office and positively identified the purse. He informed that when he had come to the station for parcel booking, he must have accidentally dropped the purse from his pants pocket.

For his honesty, Jayaprakash Shenoy was felicitated by RPF inspector Manoj Kumar in the presence of the railway station’s deputy station manager Kishan. If one loses one’s goods a the railway station or face any other issue at the station, they can always contact RPF helpline on 182, informed railway officials.
