Sexual assault on minor girl: Father, son arrested

Udupi: The city police arrested a father and son duo for sexually harassing a minor girl.

The arrested are identified as Shivashankar (58) and Sachin (28) of Ballari origin.

Shivashankar used to work in a food delivery company, while his son Sachin was working in a canteen at Manipal.

A complaint was issued against the duo with the child helpline of the district after they sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl in Parkala.

The concerned officials acted swiftly, rescued the victim girl and provided her alternative accommodation, and arrested the accused.

Sub Inspector Violet Femina has registered a complaint in this regard under the guidance of women police station inspector Pramod Kumar.
