On the fateul day areounf 1:30 pm in the afternoon, Mr Naika was on his way on duty to Udupi region Education Officer’s office. As he reached Baroda Bank near Salmara in Shankarapura, he felt intense chest pains. Therefore he immediately stopped his two wheeler and screamed in pain. He then vomited. The concerned locals inquired of his condition, but by the time they brought him to Shirva Primary Health Centre in an ambulance, he had breathed his last.

Mr Naika was originally from Katukukke Kuriyatadka of Kasaragod village and was residing at a rented house near Jantra in Belman. He is survived by his wife who is a honourary teacher, a son and a daughter, both studying in 2nd STD. The deceased was giving his service at Bantakallu School since 8 years and had become its headmaster since 4 years. He was earlier working as a teacher at Patla school near Pernankila and was transferred to Bantakallu school as additional teacher.
