Shiradi Ghat closed for traffic; Charmadi Ghat open

Mangaluru: Shiradi Ghat is completely closed for vehicular traffic till further orders informed a communication from Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shashikanth Senthil, dated August 15^th.

The Heavy rain in the region has caused multiple landslides and as a precautionary measure, the distict administration has opted to ban vehicular passage through Shiradi Ghat. However, Charmadi Ghat remains open for traffic flow.

The DC informed that about 100mm of rain is forecasted for today and he asked the fishermen not to venture into the sea.
