” My deepest condolences to the families of 5 farmers who committed suicide as they could not withstand the damage from floods. Many more farmers are in a similar helpless situation. Both Central and State govts are acting dead. It is reported that the banks are harassing the flood affected farmers by issuing notices. If State govt has any humanity left, they have to stop the banks from torturing the victims,” Siddaramaiah tweeted.

” During 2009 floods then prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh surveyed the affected areas and announced ₹1,500 Cr relief funds immediately. BS Yediyurappa was Chief Minister of Karnataka even during that time. Where is the current PM of India now?” he added.

“It is really unfortunate that our PM who has time to fly to different countries could not find time to visit flood-affected areas and hear their grievances. And Yes, he has a 56-inch chest!! I do not believe in luck factor. But Chandrayaan2 failed even though our Hon. PM of India was present. If he had visited flood-affected areas in that time, victims would have felt confident,” he claimed.

“When many farmers committed suicide during my tenure as CM of Karnataka, we took many steps and initiated many schemes like Anna Bhagya, Krishi Bhagya, Ksheera share, etc immediately to address their concerns. What is stopping BJP government from doing the same?” he questioned.

“Media has reported that the Central BJP India government has warned state government not to ask for relief funds. This is a sign of the bankruptcy of govt. If this is not true, then let the central govt release the true facts. They should not play with the lives of innocent people,” he added.
