“There are 35 schools in the district which offer Tulu language for the 8th, 9th and 10th std. students, of which, students of 22 schools had attempted the SSLC exams. All the students who attempted the exam have passed, of which 89 students have achieved full marks. 24 students have gained 99 marks and 107 students have earned marks between 90-98, thus creating a record result. Of all the students attempting the exams, 50% of the students have received’ A+’ grade,” he said.
“By achieving 100% result in Tulu language, the totals result of the schools and the district has increased. The education department officers, school head master, Tulu language teachers and students must be truly congratulated,” he said.
“It is apparent that wide spread support for Tulu teaching is existent. For the year 2018-19, more than 100 schools have decided to teach Tulu in their schools. By opting for Tulu as the third language, it is possible to achieve higher marks and in this way, the schools too can achieve record results, “ added A.C. Bhandary.
