State education dept includes Narayan Guru lessons in social science textbook

Bengaluru: In a massive development in relation to the Karnataka textbook row, the state education department has decided to include lessons on social reformer Brahmashri Narayana Guru in the social science textbook.

Earlier, Member of Parliament and BJP State President Nalin Kumar Kateel and State Power and Kannada and Culture Minister V Sunil Kumar had met State Education Minister B C Nagesh to request the state education department to include the lessons on Narayana Guru in the social science textbook.

Taking the request into consideration, minister Nagesh ordered the state education department to immediately make the inclusion.

It can be recalled that the Billava Sangha’s of the state had put immense pressure on minister Sunil Kumar and had warned of a massive protest if the inclusion was not made.
