Addressing presspersons Khader said, “The state government has totally neglected the COVID health warriors, during this difficult time. The government has not yet paid salaries to doctors and nurses and I request Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa to immediately release their salaries.

“As many as 26,000 people have not received their salaries for the last two months. Let Yediyurappa use money in the PM Cares Fund to disburse salary.”

He further added that Congress will hold protests if the government fails to pay salaries to corona warriors immediately.

20 percent of people in the Mangaluru work in Kasargod and an equal number of people from Kasargod work in the city. As the Kerala-Karnataka borders are sealed, people from both sides have now lost their employment, said Khader criticizing the state’s decision to seal its borders with Kerala.

“Will state government take responsibility of providing employment if these people lose their jobs? Let the government issue daily passes to allow them to work wherever they are,” he added.
