State Govt to ring water bell for school students to keep them hydrated

Bengaluru: After Kerala, Karnataka government to all set to take an initiative to keep the school students hydrated throughout the day.

Soon the schools in the state will ring a bell thrice a day which is being referred to as the Water bell’. When this bell rings, the students will have to drink water. The bell will ring thrice a day to remind students to stay hydrated.

Speaking with this regard, Primary and Secondary education minister S Suresh Kumar said, “I happened to see the initiative taken by the Kerala government on social media. It’s a great programme that can be implemented.

He further added, “I have directed the commissioner of public instruction to formulate a programme for our children too, where they can drink water three or four times a day to stay hydrated. While we will ensure it is implemented in all places, we need to chart out a plan for it.”

The minister had recently tweeted about implementing this programme., which was later retweeted by Chief minister BS Yediyurappa and he had also congratulated the education minister for the initiative.

“It is important to drink water to ensure our children stay healthy,” the CM had tweeted.
