“An injunction order has been passed against the Tulu movie Girgit for the derogatory, defamatory statements against the advocates and for the mockery of the judicial system of the nation. The injunction order has been passed by the Principal civil judge, DK Mangalore in O. S 1152/2019. The matter in support of the advocates (Mangalore Bar Association) was argued by advocate M P Shenoy,” stated a release from Mangalore Bar association.

Speaking about the situation, the movie director, actor Rupesh Shetty spoke with ‘Udayavani’ and expressed sadness regarding the passing of the stay order by the court against the movie. “We have not committed any crime. We have only attempted to depict the irresponsibility of a lawyer as a parody. Even the censor council has also given us a ‘U’ certificate. Even so, I don’t understand why the stay order has been passed,” said Mr Shetty giving words to his grief.

The actor informed that the next step regarding a legal fight or some other plan will be discussed and taken.
