Strict action will be taken against those who attacked ASHA workers: Ashwath Narayan

Bengaluru: A day after a nurse and ASHA workers were attacked by Muslim residents in Bengaluru’s Sadiq layout for trying to carry out tests on suspected corona symptomatic patients and also for collecting information of fever and cough from the residents of the locality, Deputy Chief Minister Ashwath Narayan said that strict action will be taken against the miscreants who attacked.

Speaking with this regard on Thursday after visiting an ASHA worker who was injured in the attack, Ashwath Narayan said, “ASHA workers were doing their duty and those who attacked them will be severely punished.”

On Wednesday, April 1 the ASHA workers, who had visited Sadiq Layout near Tannisandra to collect information on whether there were any patients showing symptoms of fever and cough were attacked by some of the Muslims residents, who were seen wearing Namaz caps and they also tore the report prepared by them.

The Muslims also asked the fellow residents not to provide any information on their visits to any religious place and their personal information to the authorities.
