Cambridge: An association of black students at Harvard Law School is criticizing the school’s response to offensive text messages and emails that were sent to four students.

The Harvard Black Law Students Association issued a statement Friday saying the law school “woefully failed to act” after the students received “hateful, racist and sexist messages” from an anonymous sender.

Harvard Law officials say the case was investigated by Harvard police and by an outside law firm, but they were unable to determine who was responsible for the messages.

Each of the four students received one message, with comments including “we all hate u” and “you’re just here because of affirmative action.” The student group believes the messages came from another student or students, but Harvard officials say that has not been confirmed.
