Sullia: Man arrested for alleged rape of minor after befriending her on Instagram

Sullia: A youth from Mandekolu village in the taluk was arrested on Tuesday, September 14 on charges of raping a high school girl whom he befriended on Instagram.

Acting on a complaint filed by the girl’s family members, Sullia police arrested Soranja Jitesh from near Adyar.

As per the complaint, Jithesh had convinced the victim that he loved her. It is alleged that he took the minor from her residence in an Alto car and raped her.

Police also seized the Alto car used by the youth.
