Supreme Court asks former Karnataka Lokayukta Bhaskar Rao to face enquiry

Bengaluru/New Delhi: Supreme court has dismissed a petition on Monday filed by former Karnataka  Lokayukta Y Bhaskar Rao seeking an order by the apex court to cancel charge sheet made against him on his role in irregularities found in Karnataka Lokayukta office during his tenure. The Apex court has asked the former judge to face the equiry from the concerned authorities dismissing his appeal to provide immunity from investigation from a special investigation team formed to investigate the corruption scandals of former Karnataka Lokayukta. Earlier, Karnataka High Court had dismissed same appeal from him and following the rejection, Bhaskar Rao had moved to the apex court of the country. Karnataka’s former anti-graft ombudsman Y Bhaskar Rao has chargesheeted in a corruption scandal in connection with an alleged extortion racket involving his son.
