Bengaluru: Expressing regret over the derogatory remarks made by BJP MP Nalin Kumar Kateel against Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, at a protest programme held in Mangaluru on Friday, former minister and BJP MLA S Suresh Kumar on Friday in a Facebook post said that the state was witnessing a competition of such undignified remarks.

Nalin while participating in the protests against Tipu Jayanti celebrations organised by the state coalition government had criticised the chief minister for allowing the government to hold the celebrations, while he himself was skipping the event. He even went on to state that Kumaraswamy was neither a man nor a woman for failing to take a stand in this regard.

Condemning the remarks of his fellow leader Suresh Kumar posted, “It is very unfortunate that our State is witnessing a competition of such remarks. People do not expect such things from a BJP MP.”

It may be recalled that Suresh Kumar had, a few days ago, taken to social media to register his anguish over the insensitive remarks made by his former ministerial colleague, G. Janardhana Reddy against Siddaramaiah. “Before our election campaign stoops to further low, concerned must take action or we may be forced to listen to more such dangerous words,” he tweeted.
