Taiwan airport offers ‘fake flights’ where people board plane but don't fly anywhere

Songshan Airport in Taiwan’s Taipei on Thursday began offering ‘fake flights’ where travellers they check-in, go through passport control, security and even board the aircraft but do not fly anywhere.

Around 7,000 people applied to take part and around 60 people got to experience one of the fake flights. The passengers got boarding passes, and proceeded through security and immigration before boarding an Airbus A330 of China Airlines

It is said that the airport also used the event to show off the new renovations to the passengers.

Songshan usually has flights to Tokyo, Seoul and several Chinese cities, and is also an important domestic hub.
