According to The Oregonian, Nguyen remarked in a press preview ahead of the grand opening, “Hopefully not for long.”
Women’s sports are the only thing on TVs at the first-of-its-kind sports bar in Portland, whether it’s commentary, replays, or live action.
“Thursday, it was gymnastics and basketball. On Friday, it will be two Final Four basketball games,” Nguyen said. Further adding, “On Saturday, there will be a soccer match featuring the Portland Thorns and a livestream of an Oregon Ravens football game.”

Nguyen told KATU-TV, “I said something to the effect of ‘Man, the only way we’re ever gonna have the opportunity to watch women’s sports in its full glory is if we had our own place,”
Women make up 40% of all athletes, according to some estimates, while women’s sports receive only 4% of all sports media attention.
By streaming women’s sports for as long as they are aired, The Sports Bra wants to expose the biassed depiction.
It’s also worth noting that the bar isn’t exclusively for women. Everyone is welcome, including children.
