There is no shortage of ventilators in the state: K Sudhakar

Medical education minister K Sudhakar dismissed all the speculations over shortage of ventilators on Thursday, April 10.

Speaking to the reporters Sudhakar said “It is not true that all COVID-19 patients need ventilator and public need not panic about it. There is no shortage of ventilators in the state.”

“Currently, there are over 734 ventilators available across the state. After a recent video conference with a few companies that manufacture ventilators, we have ordered for 1,000 units and all these will be distributed to the district hospitals in the state to fight against COVID-19.We have ordered from multiple companies because we need different kinds of ventilators.” he said.

As per sources, the ventilators will be given to private hospitals where Covid-19 patients are being treated as per demand and supply.
