Thieves return stolen ornaments from Daivasthana

Udupi: Thieves who stole silver ornaments from a Daivasthana located at Yenagudde, Katpady near here in the month of Oct apparently return some of the stolen items on Sunday.

It has been learnt that the thieves kept back few sheets of stolen silver back at the Daivasthana.

Thieves who had entered Neecha Daivasthana at Yenagudde, Katpady on October 2 last year had taken away the idol of Neecha Daiva along with its silver aureole, silver frame of the door beams and the door, two handles which served as weaponry of the Daiva and some other silver valuables.

According to the temple chief and the devotees, they had raised an astrological query and praised for a divine intervention regarding this and were guided that the stolen items would return before the next Makara Sankranthi.

The police have taken into possession the recovered items which weigh around 200 grams.
