Lazio is also home to the well-known Trevi Fountain.
The “Lazio with Love” programme has been allocated €10 million (about Rs 83 crore), under which Italian and foreign couples can receive refunds of up to Rs 1,67,000 for wedding-related expenses like services from event providers, caterers, florists, and wedding planners.

The pandemic, on the other hand, delivered the driest of spells to Italy’s event business and, by implication, tourism. Now, the Lazio area is battling to reclaim its position as the best-performing wedding destination in the country.
President of Lazio, Nicola Zingaretti said, “The scheme is needed to support a sector that has suffered badly from the economic crisis,”
“We have put the significant investment in place also with an eye on the tourism sector, and with the awareness and pride of being able to boast about every part of our region, with many locations among the most magical and fascinating in the world thanks to an unparalleled cultural heritage.”
A couple must marry between January 1 and December 31, 2022, to be eligible for the return.
While the deadline to marry is the end of the year, receipts can be submitted until January 31, 2023, or until the money runs out.
