Speaking at a news conference, he said that there is some mystery surrounding the suicide of Bangalore University Professor Ashok Kumar. Position of four vice-chancellors was recently ‘sold.’ Even though he paid money for the position, he couldn’t get one and was also not returned his money, hence, Kumar committed suicide.
“It is not known who was involved in the case or which minister took the money. It is being said that Rs 2.5 crore was paid by Kumar to become Vice-Chancellor and the recipient of the money told Kumar to wait for some days. Names of some bigwigs are being said to have a hand in the entire scam,” Shivakumar further alleged.
“A judicial inquiry should be conducted by retired High Court justices. The CM should immediately order an investigation into the issue,” Shivakumar said.
