This place in Mangaluru is the hottest in the country

Mangaluru: Though winter season has just set in, temperature in coastal Karnataka seems to be soaring by the day. Notably one of the places in Mangaluru even registered the highest temperature in the country on November 23.

At 37 degrees celsius, Panambur recorded the highest temperature in the country for the day on November 23 and this was 4.2 degrees higher than normal. At the airport, the highest temperature recorded was 34.4 degrees and a 23.9-degree minimum.

The temperature recorded on Sunday, November 24 dropped slightly to 36.6-degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was at 22.8 degrees.

The Meteorological Department has predicted a possibility of moderate rainfall in southern interior Karnataka on November 27 and 28.

Though weather conditions remained overcast at few rural places on Sunday, there was no report of any rainfall. The high temperatures are a result of no rainfall in the last 3 –4 weeks in the coastal region.
