Today’s Navaratri worship: Kalaratri – one who slays wicked and protects the upright

Day 7 of the Sharadiya Navratri festival is dedicated to the worship of Goddess Kalaratri (aka Kaalaratri). She goes by the name Shubhankari as well.
Kalaratri is goddess Parvati’s seventh manifestation and is thought to be the one who delivers from difficulties. The nighttime worship of Goddess Kalaratri is highly fortunate.
The Goddess assumed the shape of Kalaratri in order to destroy the Raktabeej together with Shumbha and Nishumbha.
Goddess Kalaratri’s name, Kalaratri, derives from her colour, Krishna Varna. Goddess Kalaratri’s depictions show her having three eyes and perched atop a donkey. In her four arms, she carries a Kanta (an iron weapon) and a Khadga. Her neck is adorned with a lightning-shiny garland.
Worshiping Goddess Kalaratri is thought to be a foolproof way to get rid of your dread of spirits, ghosts, bad elements, foes, and rivals.
