Traffic police adopts new method to deal with violators

Mangaluru: The traffic police has decided to use a new method to deal with traffic rules violators instead of standing by the roadside to stop and penalise violators which mostly leads to heated arguments.

Rajesh K V, station house officer for traffic at Bantwal police station planned to use vehicle traffic CCTV footages to spot the violators. Later traffic officials visit the houses of the violators and serve notices to them with the video evidence in hand.

This method has led to less stress for the traffic police personnel as they do not have to stand hours in adverse weather and deal with brash riders.

Rajesh is also planning to give video cameras to traffic police officials to record those violators that might be missed by the CCTVs.
