Tree falls on bike-borne man, dies on spot

Hassan: In a tragic incident a bike rider has died on spot as the tree fell on him, here on Sunday.

The deceased in identified as Ranga Shetty (40), a resident of Kallasomanahalli village of Channarayapatna taluk.

Ranga Shetty was returning from Channarayapatna to his village on a bike during which a tree came down right on him. Due to the impact, he suffered with excruciating pain for couple of minutes and died.

The tree is said to been uprooted due to strong winds.

Later, the body was recovered by the fire fighters after lifting the tree with the help of JCBs and a crane.

Meanwhile, the body has been placed at the mortuary of Channarayapatna Government Hospital.

A case has been registered in the Channarayapatna Rural Police Station.
