After the central government interceded and had talks, the truck proprietors chose to withdraw their strike.
President of Lorry Owners Association, G R Shanmugappa, said that the demand of truckers was marginal, and since seven days they needed to stop movement of trucks to take care of this marginal demand. He said that proprietors of the considerable number of goods and transport vehicles had supported this strike. “During our discussion with the central government, the government said it has decided to meet our demands. Hence, we have decided to temporarily withdraw this strike,” he clarified.
The withdrawal of truck strike has come as a relief for the people, government, workers and other people who are dependent to transport business.
