Addressing a press meet here on Friday, Channareddy said that diesel cost has been going up each day. He rebuked the central government for influencing this hike since the last few years.
“Since 2002, third party insurance premium is going up relentlessly. This increase of this premium is now at 1117 percent. Our rehashed demands to contain this hike have being ignored. Accordingly we have decided to protest,” he clarified.
Channareddy said that if their demands are not met by June 18, inconclusive strike will be attempted from midnight that day everywhere throughout the nation, because of which a wide range of merchandise transport vehicles will stop handling. He blamed the central government for not tending to issues like toll charges and taking unilateral decisions. He likewise blamed the government for enabling privately owned businesses to conduct third party insurance business which has been making issues.
