Twitter bans 7,000 accounts linked to conspiracy theory group QAnon

Twitter claims that it will stop recommending content linked to QAnon and block URLs associated with it from being shared on the platform.

It has removed thousands of accounts linked to the conspiracy theory group QAnon. They claimed that they removed those content that has the potential to cause harm

QAnon is a wide-ranging, unfounded conspiracy theory that says that Donald Trump is waging a secret war against elite Satan-worshipping paedophiles in government, business and the media.

The social media giant confirmed that they have permanently removed 7,000 QAnon-linked users to date for violating guidelines on spam and platform manipulation.

Also, it is said that approximately 150,000 accounts will be removed from the platform globally.

Twitter will  block links associated with QAnon content and will remove QAnon accounts from trends and recommended lists.
