Kohli surpassed former Sri Lankan skipper Mahela Jayawardene’s total of 1,016 runs in just 23rd innings of T20 World Cup during the India vs Bangladesh match on November 2, played at Adelaide.
Jayawardene had taken 31 innings to make a mark.
Although there’s a lot to speak about Kohli’s performance in this year’s T20 World Cup edition, soon after the match on November 2, spectators flooded Twitter with their tweets hailing Kohli and calling him “King” and GOAT”.
