The incident in question involved the two accused using abusive language against the doctors at the government hospital for allegedly delaying in providing treatment to their friend, who had suffered injuries in an accident. Few people who were there during the incident captured video of the incident and shared it on social media. The incident occurred in the backdrop of all private doctors withdrawing their services in response to the strike call given by IMA in reaction to the attack on doctors in West Bengal.

On Monday, one Dhanush Shetty suffered injuries after meeting with an accident near Jyothi Circle. He was rushed to Wenlock hospital where the doctors provided the victim with first aid and advised that the patient be put through CT scan as he had suffered head injuries. However, the hospital could not arrange an ambulance immediately and a delay of 45 minutes ensued for the arrival of the ambulance.

Angry at purported delay, Dhanush Shetty, and his close ones, Deekshit and Nitin derided doctors there in abusive language, recorded the incident on video, and posted the same in social media.

Later, superintendent of the hospital, Dr Rajeshwari Devi, had filed a complaint in Pandeshwar police station based on which the accused were arrested.  They have been remanded to judicial custody.
