Two men killed for denying to pay Rs 15 for a cigarette

Bengaluru: A 30-year-old man who declined to pay Rs 15 for a cigarette he had grabbed from a petty shop ended up losing his life on Wednesday night. His refusal prompted a progression of conflicts which brought about the man and his brother being hacked to death in east Bengaluru.

The occurrence happened in Veerannagudde on Govindapura Main Road close KG Halli. The deceased are Amin, 30, and Mathin, 32, residents of Veerannagudde. 

Additional Commissioner of police (east), Seemanth Kumar Singh, stated: “We’ve taken up a case of murder against the group, including the shop owner, Ali. We have caught a few people, including the individuals who prompted the gang to assault the duo.” 

KG Halli police said at 7.30pm, Amin took a cigarette worth Rs 15 from Ali’s shop. Ali saw Amin was leaving without paying and stopped him. Amin said to Ali he would pay him next time however Ali didn’t agree. The twosome had a heated arguement and Amin left after striking Ali. 

Police said Ali informed his friends about the attack on the telephone and the group of more than a six hurried to his shop. They began searching for Amin, who was found in a near-by place around 9pm. The group attacked him with wooden logs and oher blunt objects. Amin’s brother Mathin, a taxi driver, hurried to save him. But the group attacked Marthin.

Mathin was killed on the spot, while Amin was hurried to hospital where he passed away. Police said Amin was a drug addict and had a few cases against him at KG Halli and other police station.
