The construction of pedestrian bridge to provide entry to the city railway metro station at platform number 10 Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna (KSR) railway station is said to take another three months to complete. To exit the railway station from the western point at platform number 10, the commuters should climb stairs to the road and walk for more than 200 metres each to reach the City Railway Metro station. Though the stretch was opened for public in November 2015, commuters of railways, BMTC and KSRTC are yet to get safe access.

This has created a lot of inconvenience to the commuters as they have to walk a kilometre just to get to the platform. And the stretch is said to be very unfriendly to the pedestrians in the evenings as it is poorly lit.  They are awaiting the completion of the delayed construction.

However, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has set a target to complete the construction in February. According to the corporation’s Public Relations Officer UA Vasanth Rao the bridge will be ready by February end the portion built by the railways might take another three months.

The project has already missed three deadlines in 2017 with doubling the budget from Rs.95 lakh to Rs.2 Crore. The project has got all the clearance from the railways so it is left to the BMRCL to complete the work.
