Kota: An incident where a family of a woman received her COVID-19 positive test report five days after her death leading to health officials coming to the house to declare it a containment zone and the family expressing outrage at them was reported from Karkada in Saligrama near here on August 24.
The woman who was ill was taken to Kundapura taluk hospital first and then to a private hospital in Udupi for further treatment.
She died on August 19 due to multiple organ failure. Her body was later handed over to her family through the Udupi government hospital stating that she did not show any COVID-19 symptoms.
However, five days later with her test reporting positive for the virus has become a cause of concern among those who attended the woman's funeral.
The woman's family expressed displeasure to the officers who came to declare the house a containment zone. After nearly four hours of arguing and the intervention of Kota police station's Sub-Inspector Santosh and local gram panchayat members Raju Poojary, Sanjeeva Devadiga and others the family members relented.
